Instagram for pet sitters: the setup most people get wrong
How to set up and run an Instagram account for a pet-sitting business, including the Business account and Page link needed to schedule posts.

Get the account type right first
A personal Instagram account cannot be scheduled to, cannot show you any useful numbers, and cannot be managed by any tool. Switching to a Business or Creator account is free and takes about a minute in the app's settings.
It also has to be linked to a Facebook Page you manage. This trips up almost everyone, because the Page feels pointless — you do not have to use it, but without it nothing can publish on your behalf.
The bio is a search result
Your name field is searchable, so it should contain what you do and where, not a slogan. "Happy Paws — Scottsdale pet sitting" beats "Happy Paws 🐾✨".
The bio itself should answer one question: who is this for. Then one clear next step, and a link that goes somewhere useful rather than to a link tree of dead ends.
What to actually post
Static posts still carry most of the weight for local service accounts, because they are saveable and readable. Reels reach further but convert worse; use them for the top of the funnel and keep the substance in the caption.
Stories are where you show the day-to-day. They disappear, which makes them the right place for the ordinary stuff that would clutter a grid.
Reading the numbers without a marketing degree
Ignore likes. Watch saves, shares, and profile visits. A post with forty likes and twelve saves is doing more for your business than one with two hundred likes and no saves.
Profile visits are the closest thing to intent that Instagram will show you. If a kind of post drives them, make more of that kind.
You could do all of this yourself.
Or tell us about your business once and have a month of it written, checked, scheduled, and published for you.
